Hand-pulled espresso. Freshly ground masa. Slow-simmered moles. Two passions, one kitchen, zero shortcuts — right here on Route 940.
Axath's Cafe & Mexican Grill was born from a simple conviction: the best meals happen when you refuse to choose between a perfect espresso and a perfectly spiced tamal. Our kitchen fires up at dawn — first the coffee, then the salsa, then everything in between.
Every dish is prepared from scratch using family recipes passed down through generations, paired with single-origin beans roasted to highlight their natural sweetness. This isn't fusion for its own sake — it's honesty on a plate.
The warmth of our space, the craft in every detail.

Whether you're grabbing a morning pour-over before the mountain haze clears, or settling in for a leisurely dinner with mezcal in hand, Axath's is designed to feel like coming home — only the food is better.
Intimate atmosphere — warm materials, soft lighting, and a layout that encourages lingering.
Locally sourced ingredients — produce from Pocono farms, spices imported with intention.
Live weekends — acoustic sets and open mic nights that turn dinner into an event.
Private dining available — perfect for gatherings, celebrations, and quiet evenings.
The coffee alone is worth the drive from the city, but the mole poblano made me cancel my return trip. Unforgettable.
I've been to Mexico City and this is the closest I've found up here in the Poconos. The tortillas are made right in front of you — you can't fake that kind of care.
Perfect date spot. The mezcal menu is surprisingly deep, the espresso is genuinely excellent, and the atmosphere feels like a secret the Poconos are proud to share.
